Can I claim on Medicare or Private Health Insurance?

In short - no.

Because “coaching” is not classified as one of the Medicare-eligible allied health or medical services, it typically does not qualify for Medicare rebates.

This also applies to Private Health Insurance. We, as ADHD coaching, even though it’s highly supportive and evidence-informed, is considered a non-clinical, non-medical service — it’s focused on skill-building, strategies, self-management, and goal-setting rather than diagnosis or treatment.

Because of that, insurers do not classify coaching under any existing extras category, so rebates are generally not available.

How do I know which Coach to choose?

I love being asked this question.

When looking for a Coach, please be aware that Coaching is an unregulated industry, which means anyone can call themselves a coach. That’s why it’s important to work with someone who has undertaken comprehensive, accredited training. My coaching approach is informed by professional study, recognised standards, and ongoing education — so you can trust the process and the support you receive from me.

For you to make the most out of this commitment, please make sure you ask your potential coach the following questions:

  • How long did you train to become a Coach?

  • How long did you train to become an ADHD Coach?

  • What credentials do you have? Look them up.

These are standard questions for which you are paying for their services, but also a service that is for your own health - you have every right to ask them no matter how ‘great’ they may sound.

Choosing to work with a coach is a courageous and progressive step — It’s important to find someone who will work closely with you and truly listen to your needs and desires. As an ADDCA-trained coach, my aim is to help you feel empowered, confident, and in control, so you can harness your strengths and create a life that feels fulfilling and meaningful.

How many sessions should I book?

The number of sessions varies from person to person, depending on your goals, needs, and the changes you want to make. Many clients find that committing to 6–12 sessions gives them the best results, as this allows time to explore patterns, build new strategies, and see meaningful progress.

I encourage you to book in your initial 6 sessions on the same day and time to make it easier for your scheduling, and to also ensure I have the availability that you would like.

Do you Coach persons under the age of 18?

I currently work with adults (18+) only and do not offer coaching for children or adolescents.

Do you offer in-person coaching?

I offer online coaching sessions only. All sessions are held virtually, allowing you to connect from wherever you are.

Are you able to coach adults without an ADHD diagnosis?

Absolutely. Yes. You do not need an official ADHD diagnosis to work with me. Many of my clients seek coaching because they recognise patterns or challenges in themselves that are often linked with ADHD, even without a formal assessment. Coaching focuses on building awareness, developing practical strategies, and creating meaningful change — regardless of whether you have a diagnosis.

Do you collaborate with other professionals?

Yes. I often collaborate with other professionals — such as psychologists, psychiatrists, GPs, or therapists — as part of a holistic approach to support. Coaching can complement medical or therapeutic care by focusing on practical strategies, daily habits, and forward-focused goals. With your consent, I can work alongside your existing support team to help you create consistent progress in all areas of your life.

It might be that at our Initial Consultation that you will share documents with me that will allow me to do the groundwork in reaching out to your already established team to work out what is best for you in a coaching sense.

Are you NDIS affiliated?

At this point in time, I am not.

When should I not consider Coaching?

Coaching is not a substitute for therapy, counselling, or medical treatment. If you are experiencing significant mental health challenges such as severe anxiety, depression, trauma, or crisis situations, coaching alone is unlikely to provide the support you need.

In those cases, it’s important to seek help from a qualified mental health professional, such as a psychologist, psychiatrist, or GP.

Coaching is most effective when you’re ready to focus on the present and future — building awareness, developing strategies, and taking action toward meaningful change.
